Boring week.

Well, today is just as boring as the rest have been this week. Haven't really done anything at all, but I do have softball tonight, so things are looking up. I did drive home to my parents house on Tues. to try to fix some computer problems they were having. I tried a few different things, then I tried to reinstall the OS over the top, and it lost the driver for the network card. Then I find out that the driver it needed was nowhere to be found. So, I had no network card driver, and no internet access to download the driver. Kind of hard to fix an email problem when you can't access the email server. Oh well, they need a new computer anyway. They are running Windows 98 on a 233MHz system. I can fry eggs faster than that thing can boot up. (Five years ago, that was probably a smoking system.)

I have mostly been bumming around at home all week, with nothing to do. Yesterday, after work, I did decide that I needed to buy some new clothes. I found out there was a sale going on, and spent more than I had planned, but I don't shop as much as I should, so that is OK. I think I bought two pairs of dress pants for work, 2 pairs of shorts, and about 4 shirts. Of course I like the expensive stuff, so the bill was not cheap, but everything I purchased was on sale, so I saved a little money. It wasn't like I didn't need the clothes anyway. I was getting pretty tired of wearing the same clothes every week.

Another friend of mine (I will call him Jim from now on.) did call me last night, and asked if I wanted to go to Apple River during the weekend of the 4th of July, I am all set. I have gone to Apple River ever year for at least the last 10 years. If you have never heard of it, which you probably haven't, you can check it out here. They don't really tell you the true story about what happens, but I will. Basically, you rent tubes for everyone in your group, plus a tube for the coolers that you will need. Put as much beer as you can in the coolers, haul all of this stuff to the pickup spot, ride bus to top of the river. Tie all of the tubes together, get in, float down river and drink. Along the way, it is basically like Mardi Gras. If you have beads, they will show. The better the beads, the more you get to see. It also helps if they are drunker also. Every sand bar you come too has people camped there, just having a little party on the river. Last year, my friends and I brought Jim and some of his friends up there for their first time. We went through all the hassle of getting ready, renting the tubes, hauling everything to the pickup point, rode the bus to the top of the river, tied all the tubes together, got everything in the water, and everyone on their tubes. We then passed beers around to everyone. By this time, we are 5 minutes into a ride which takes around 2 1/2 hours. It was pretty quiet when we got in, not a large number of people around us at the time. Jim looks at me and asks if this was all there was to this. He seemed pretty disappointed. I knew exactly where we were, since I had been there at least 10-15 times. I stopped our group of 10, and we all did a beer bong. Passed out some more beers, and then shoved off. I looked at Jim and said "you are going to love this". He looked at me like I was crazy. You have to remember this was the 4th of July last year, so it would be a busy weekend. We were just coming around a bend, which has the first big sand bar of the trip. I just watched Jim until we came around the bend. He was smiling ear to ear within 20 seconds. There must have been at least 500 people gathered at this sand bar. (I have pictures of the first group which I have to get posted for everyone to see.) You could see women with their tops off from 100 yards away. Jim just looks over at me, raises his beer and says, "That's what I'm talking about buddy." From there on, it was beer, women, sand bars, and great times the rest of the ride down the river. I have so many stories I could tell about the different times I have been up there, it is just an unbelievable time. But you have to have the friends with you to make it worth the trip. Some of the stories I should tell sometime include: Different women showing us their new clit piercings, running naked on the bank of the river with people floating by, drunk girl with no top losing her tube and riding on my lap for 20 minutes, Old 52, (guy who tried to drink 60 beers in 24 hours.) having sex with a married women with her husband laying right next to me in the back of a mini-van, showering with 2 other women because the shower cost money, and many more that I can not even think of right now. I just get the giddy feeling just knowing that I will be up there again in about a week. Speaking of this year, Jim met a girl last timek, and he ended up taking to the local park to get busy with her. He has actually talked and emailed her during the year a little. She called last week, and Jim told her we were coming up. Jim asked if she has any friends for me, she said that she had a few, so hopefully I will get hooked up without trying very hard. If not, I will work something out on my own. If everything goes as good as it has in the past, I should have at least a few stories for you.

Well, for having nothing to say this week, I guess this is starting to get a little long, so I will talk with you next time....
